Risk is calculated, never blind
My years at the bank rewired how I think about risk. Sitting across from hundreds of business owners, I learned that risk is not a feeling to be brave about — it is something you can measure.
The goal was never to avoid risk, and it was never to chase it for the thrill. It was to take the calculated kind: the bet where you have counted the downside, sized it honestly, and decided you can live with it.
That discipline still shapes how I build today. Before any move, I ask the banker’s question — what does this cost me if I’m wrong? If the answer is survivable and the upside is real, that is a risk worth taking. Everything else, I leave alone.
